Born and raised in Toronto, Sandra Yang’s fascination with the art of makeup began as a young teenager transforming and experimenting with the faces of her high school friends.
Upon obtaining a degree in Aboriginal Studies, Criminology and Canadian history at the University of Toronto, Sandra made the easy decision to pursue her creative passions in makeup and hair.
Sandra’s drive for the perfection of skin, the “blank canvas” led her to admire the works of Laura Mercier for which she has fortunate enough to have been trained in her philosophies early in her career.
Sandra also had the opportunity to assist international celebrity make-up artist Scott Barnes during his visit to Toronto.
Her flair for makeup and hair has taken her from Tribeca’s International Film Festival to the Toronto International Film Festival, to working on the off Broadway musical hit Evil Dead the Musical as make-up and hair/wig designer in Toronto, to advertisement, fashion and creative print campaigns.
Her love for the brush has transcended upon the faces of such clients as Lisa Ray, Jillian Michaels, Molly Parker, Piper Perabo, Don Mckellar, Shirley Douglas and musical performers Emily Osment, Sarah Slean, Deborah Cox, Lady Sovereign, K T Tunstall, and Hedley.
