Karen Munnis is a highly regarded fashion stylist and costume designer. Internationally trained for both film and print, Karen has worked with world-renowned photographers and directors creating a diverse and expansive portfolio.
Karen started her career in London, England writing about fashion. She earned a coveted internship at Condé Nast Online, where she wrote for Vogue and Glamour magazines' websites. Internships at both Vogue and Glamour magazine led to a freelance fashion assistant position at Glamour where working under the creative director and senior fashion editor, Karen assisted on shoots with photographers like Robert Erdmann, Coliena Rentmeester and Patric Shaw and for such personalities as Geri Halliwell, Tamara Mellon, and Girls Aloud.
Karen successfully expanded her work to designing for film and television. As a costume designer, Karen has dressed Chloe Sevigny, Lou Doillon, Stephen Rea, Margot Kidder, Efren Ramirez and Katrina Bowden. Most recently, Karen designed the first season of Kaya, MTV's first scripted drama in six years. In addition to film, Karen has styled music videos for Mariana's Trench and has contributed to Fashion magazine and The Globe and Mail. She has also used her fashion expertise as a guest on MTV Canada and Breakfast television.
Karen demonstrates an innate sense of style and creativity. Her diverse work experience and broad fashion knowledge makes her an asset in the industry.
