Felix Lariviere was born in the tiny village of St. Zacharie, in the Province of Quebec, and left at the age of 16 to pursue his hairstyling studies in Quebec city. Filled with a need for adventure, he then left for Nice, France, where he landed work as an assistant, and quickly moved on as hairstylist. After three exciting years of working and travelling in Europe, Felix decided to return to Canada.
After only a short time back in Montreal, Felix was able to quickly build on his existing career as a unique and highly sought after hairstylist. He began working as a freelance artist for Editorial Magazine photographers including some International Television spots for the likes of (Perrier, Martiny, Maybeline, and L’Oreal) for which he won a few awards for his unique hairstyles. (As can be seen on website)
These experiences brought him to work for the Canadian film industry, followed by Hollywood and then the European markets.
Always passionate about keeping up with the latest trends, Felix remained interested in cutting-edge beauty and fashion trends, and began teaching and sharing his trade secrets concerning the older hairdo’s and hairstyle techniques….so to adapt them easily to our quicker more fast-paced lifestyle.
Mr. Lariviere began as a freelancer, then worked as a Hair Stylist on Television shows, numerous Gala’s, Cirque du Soleil, various Show Business outlets, as well as Fashion Week’s in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and New York where he made his encounter with Moroccan oil, for whom he worked for during a five year period.
As Education Stylist for North America, he did many trade shows and Fashion Weeks and traveled in order to teach others how to use certain products to accentuate various hairstyles, including elegant updo’s and ‘Red Carpet’ styles. Using a product he was promoting, he would also explain how to work with hair extensions, and accessories to create volume that stands in harmony with a certain silhouette.
Presently, Mr. Lariviere is in pre-production as Key Hair Designer for the Shooting of Fox Production’s, X-Men Days of Future past (set in the 1970’s). He is creating the castings hair styles along with the collaboration of the costume designer for( Jennifer Lawrence, Halley Berry, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Page, James McAvoy). A strong team player while leading a group of 30 hairstylists, he allows them to be in control of their art form by teaching them everything from hairstyles to texture. He wants them to be ready to use products such as the Kevin-Murphy line and be able to create styles of the 1970’s disco era.
